The 2026 Honda 0 Series Is Almost Here

2026 Honda 0 Series

After unveiling the Saloon concept, Honda revealed two prototypes at CES 2025, advancing the 2026 Honda 0 Series EVs. The 0 Saloon prototype resembles last year’s concept, while the 0 SUV prototype evolves from the 2024 Space Hub into a crossover.

Futuristic Silhouette

2026 Honda 0 Series will launch in North America in 2026. The 0 SUV will debut in early 2026 and will be built in Ohio. 0 Saloon will follow later in the year, also made in Ohio. The 0 SUV is bulkier than the Saloon but retains a raked windshield and low roofline.

The front features a black panel with pixelated headlights and an illuminated Honda logo. Below is a large bumper to cool the battery. A black roof creates a two-tone look, while the rear windows rise sharply before the D-pillar. The rear windshield is thin, with U-shaped taillights.

Straight Out of Blade Runner

The 0 Saloon keeps the low wedge design seen in the 2024 CES concept. Now, it has larger headlights with retractable covers. The concept’s front screen was replaced by a cleaner panel. Like the SUV, the Saloon has a D-pillar, and the rear lights are a repeating oval shape.

Both prototypes use side cameras instead of mirrors, though they may not make it to production.

Minimalist Interior

The 2026 Honda 0 Series has a very minimalist interior. There’s a digital gauge, central touchscreen, side camera displays, and a passenger screen. The cabin has few physical buttons, just behind the yoke steering wheel. The SUV’s seats look suitable for production.

The Saloon features an illuminated glass panel in the center console. The 2026 Honda 0 Series will feature steer-by-wire technology. It will offer RWD and AWD drivetrain. Honda is offering both 241 hp and 67 hp electric motors. A thin lithium-ion battery is designed to provide around 300 miles of range.

Level 3 Autonomous Driving

The 2026 Honda 0 Series will support Level 3 autonomous driving. This feature allows the car to handle driving tasks. Drivers can watch movies or join Zoom calls. Initially, it will work only on highways. It will expand to other driving scenarios in time. Honda is partnering with Helm.ai to add AI to the system. The AI will adapt to various driving conditions, responding to unexpected changes. Honda also introduced ASIMO OS, a next-gen vehicle system. This in-house system will integrate driver assistance and infotainment systems. It will allow for over-the-air updates.

Honda is working with Renesas to create a powerful chip for the 2026 Honda 0 Series. This chip will manage functions like autonomous driving and climate control while reducing power use.

Best of Both Worlds

Honda is collaborating with seven automakers in the IONNA venture to build a charging network. It aims for 30,000 stations by 2030. The 2026 Honda 0 Series will feature NACS-style charging ports. These cars will charge when electricity costs are low. They can also send power back to the grid to help owners earn money.
