Gone are the days of the Tesla Model X and the Kia EV9! Hyundai just added the 2026 Ioniq 9 to their fleet, and it is here to stay. It is an all-electric, full-size SUV that has three rows, practicality, and a reasonable price bracket as well. Read on till the end to find out more:
Based on the Hyundai Seven Concept
The Hyundai Ioniq 9 is expected to hit the dealerships in mid-2025. It is an addition to the Ioniq lineup, which was evident after the success of the Ioniq 5. The car is based on the Hyundai Seven concept from three years back.
The Hyundai Ioniq 9’s wheelbase measures 123.2 inches, nine inches longer than that of the Hyundai Palisade. However, the Ioniq 9’s overall length is just 2.5 inches greater than 199.2 inches.
The Tesla Model X and the Rivian R1S don’t offer 42.8 inches of second-row legroom. With all the seats in place, you get 21.9 cubic feet of cargo space. When the seats are down, a massive 46.7 cubic feet of cargo space is at your disposal.
The front pixelated light bar, the headlights, and the rear taillights seem like something out of Star Wars. The interior game is on par as well. You get a floating dashboard with a curved display encompassing the 12-inch digital gauge cluster and 12-inch infotainment system.
Available Trims and Powertrains
Two trims will be offered: one with captain chairs in the second row for greater comfort and the other with bench seats for more space utilization.
It will also be available in three powertrain options.
A single motor with a rear-wheel drive will produce 215 horsepower, while the long-range dual-motor AWD will deliver 303 horsepower. If you seek more power and acceleration, then the Hyundai Ioniq 9 will also have a performance model featuring a beefier rear motor in the front axle as well as the other motors. This performance variant will offer a total of 422 horsepower and will provide acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds with a top speed of 199 km/h.
Long Lasting Battery
Not only will the Ioniq 9 provide exceptional performance, but it will also ensure a long-lasting battery life, allowing you to go on long drives on a single charge. Moreover, it will enable DC to charge up to 350 kW, offering you more than 300 miles of range. The exciting part is that Hyundai claims that you can charge from 10 – 80% in only 24 minutes.
Expected Launch
According to the sources, the sales of the Hyundai Ioniq 9 are expected to start in the middle of 2025, while production will begin in early 2025. The official pricing of the Ioniq 9 is not revealed till next year, but the price can be expected to start from $75,000 (AED 275,000).
