The New Tesla Model Y: Is This the End of Gas-Powered Cars?
The Tesla Model Y is an unpleasant-looking, upwards-stretched Tesla Model 3. Well, not anymore. Tesla just unveiled their new and improved Tesla Model Y in the U.S., Canada, and Europe. Most of us think the Model Y is another bland electric SUV, but it’s more than that.
Tesla Model Y
The Model Y wasn’t just any electric SUV! In fact, it was one of the cars that were sold the most recently overall. It had its problems and set of complaints, but still, it sold almost 2.16 million units since its start of production up to December 2023.
Unlike German manufacturers, who don’t care what their consumers feel about their cars, Tesla listened. Not only did they listen, but they majorly improved those faults with the new Model Y. How so? Let’s find out. If you want to stay up-to-date with the latest automotive news, keep following the Arabwheels blog.
Better Than Ever?
Unlike typical facelifts, the Tesla Model Y doesn’t just get a redesigned body kit and a significant price increase. You get a completely redesigned interior and exterior with Cybertruck-inspired DRLs and significantly improved aerodynamics.
The battery is the same as the old one, which had a range of 501 km. Yet it has a range of almost 515 km. That is because Tesla has played the drag coefficient and aerodynamics. Yes, there is a price increase. The old Tesla Model Y was worth around $51,490, but the new Tesla Model Y launch edition has a price of $59,990.
Interior is Definitely Improved
Tesla took the complaints regarding cheap material usage in the interiors seriously. That is why the Model Y comes with a better, premium, and more comfortable interior. You get new perforated ‘fake leather’ seats and an 8-inch screen at the back for the passengers.
Like the previous Model Y, this one incorporates all the controls into the 15-inch main screen. New ambient lighting is standard throughout the interior. The fully-glass roof ensures that no harmful UV rays affect your skin.
