No More Parking Barriers at Mall of the Emirates
You heard that right! The parking barriers at one of Dubai’s largest malls are gone! The car park at Mall of the Emirates is now barrier-free, making it easier than ever to navigate. Keep in mind that the parking fees will remain the same.
A new paid parking system was introduced for three Majid Al Futtaim malls in October 2024. Initially, the system was intended to launch at all three malls on January 1, but it will take a few more months before the Mall of the Emirates is fully prepared.
Mall of the Emirates parking fees
Free parking on weekends and public holidays

- Under 4 hours: Free
- Under 5 hours: AED 20
- Under 6 hours: AED 40
- Under 7 hours: AED 60
- Under 8 hours: AED 100
- Over 8 hours: AED 150

This initiative by public parking providers Parkin and Al Futtaim aims to simplify the navigation of the 21,000 spaces for the 20 million cars. Thanks to advanced license plate recognition technology, the system automatically tracks vehicles as they enter and exit the area.
Consumer-Friendly Interface
Cameras capture each vehicle’s license plate, making it easy to calculate parking fees. If the system charges a fee, it sends customers an SMS with a link, allowing them to pay effortlessly through a user-friendly web platform. For added convenience, customers can link their accounts to Parkin’s wallet, allowing for faster, smoother transactions in the future.
While this new system offers efficient parking, the fees at the Mall of the Emirates will remain unchanged. The initial plan is to shift to a barrier-free solution, which aims to enhance the overall experience.
Convenience Redefined
The transition aims to make parking quicker and more convenient for visitors by removing barriers and ticketing. City Centre Deira has already launched the new system, and the Mall of the Emirates will implement it in February.
This means that all visitors can look forward to a smoother parking process that saves time! Thanks for reading till the end. Let us know what you think in the comments. For more interesting content and news like this, keep following the arabwheels blog.
