Traffic Update – Ajman Taxi Fare Hiked & New Route Opened in Sharjah

Taxi fares in Ajamn have increased. Due to the recent increase in fuel prices in the UAE, taxi fares in Ajman have increased from AED 1.74 to AED 1.77. In February 2025, the rise in fuel prices also affected taxi fares.

Now, it costs AED 6 to AED 9 more to fill up your tank with fuel. That is why the taxi fares in Ajman, which are set monthly, have increased. Here are the fuel prices for February 2025 in the UAE:

E-Plus 91 AED 2.55 per litre
Special 95 AED 2.63 per litre
Super 98 AED 2.74 per litre
Diesel AED 2.82 per litre

Sharjah’s New Route Gets You There 85% Faster.

In other news, residents of Al Tawoon, Al Majaz, Al Khan, and Al Mamzar in Sharjah can finally breathe a sigh of relief during their daily commutes. Thanks to the newly opened traffic diversion on Al Tawoon Street! This new route has eased congestion, cutting down travel time by as much as 25 minutes during peak hours.

Previously, the single exit from Al Ittihad Road into Al Tawoon Street led to some frustrating bottlenecks, especially in the evenings. This made it challenging for vehicles heading towards Al Khan and Al Mamzar, making everything worse. 

Better Late than Never

However, with this new diversion, it now takes just three to four minutes to get home once you enter Sharjah! After years of waiting for a solution, this reduction in travel time means so much more than just convenience for many—it’s also helping to lower fuel costs!
