In a groundbreaking step toward the future of hypercars, Bugatti has unveiled its first-ever hybrid hypercar, boasting a staggering 1,800 horsepower with three electric motors. The Tourbillon opens a new chapter in Bugatti’s legacy by combining traditional engines with cutting-edge hybrid powertrains, redefining the limits of speed and performance. It is the first model in the brand’s 20-year legacy that does not power a W16 engine.
Instead, it is equipped with a 16-cylinder engine that delivers a top speed of 445 km/h and costs more than $4 million.
Currently, the Tourbillon is in its testing phase, with production expected to start in 2026, limited to a select number of cars.
Breathtaking Performance and Design
The Tourbillon is powered by a V16, 8.3-liter engine that delivers 1,000 hp through the petrol engine alone. With the electric motors combined, it achieves a total output of 1,800 hp. A single motor provides a range of 60 km on a fully charged battery, and the Tourbillon comprises three motors—two at the front and one at the rear. With a top speed of 445 km/h, it accelerates 0-100 km/h in just 2 seconds, breaking speed records.
As expected, the Tourbillon’s design blends aerodynamic efficiency with elegance, making it a visual and engineering masterpiece. The car is longer than its predecessor, the Chiron, but surprisingly lighter due to the extensive use of carbon fiber and advanced materials. Bugatti engineers have managed to reduce weight despite adding a complex hybrid system.
Inside the Tourbillon, the driver is greeted by Bugatti’s signature design and craftsmanship, merging cutting-edge technology with high-end materials, hand-stitched leather, and a bespoke digital dashboard. Unique to this Bugatti model, the dashboard hides a large display screen with Apple CarPlay, which appears at the owner’s command.
A Hefty Price Tag and Limited Production
Like other Bugatti models, the Tourbillon offers exclusivity, with only 250 units available to admirers globally. Production is set to begin in 2026, and the car will come with a hefty price tag of $4 million (approximately AED 14 million), placing it firmly in the ultra-luxury market.
