Kia PV5

Beyond the EV4 and EV2 concepts, Kia introduced the Kia PV5, the first model from its Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) lineup. Available in passenger, cargo, and chassis cabin variants, the PV5 is highly customizable for use in food trucks, camper vans, and wheelchair-accessible vehicles.

Launched on the 2025 Kia EV Day, the Kia PV5 is slightly smaller than the Volkswagen ID Buzz. The Passenger model seats up to eight (2+3+3 configuration) with a lift-up tailgate.

Performance & Battery Options

The PV5 features a front-wheel-drive setup, delivering 161 hp and 250 Nm of torque. Kia offers three battery choices:

  • 51.5 kWh NCM pack
  • 71.2 kWh NCM pack
  • 43.3 kWh LFP pack (Cargo variant only)

The Passenger model achieves a maximum 400 km range with the largest battery. Charging from 10% to 80% takes 30 minutes with DC fast charging.

Interior & Technology

Unlike most Kia models, where the digital instrument cluster merges with the infotainment screen, the PV5 separates its 7-inch driver display from a 12.9-inch touchscreen. Physical buttons are still there on the lower center console for easy access.

The Cargo model offers 5.1 cubic meters of storage and can accommodate two Euro pallets. The Wheelchair-Accessible Vehicle (WAV) variant includes a ramp that supports 661 pounds (300 kg). Click here to see the interior and exterior images of the Kia PV5.

Global Availability

Kia plans to sell the PV5 in Europe and Korea later in 2025, with other markets following in 2026. Importing the PV5 to the U.S. faces the 25% Chicken Tax, but Kia’s CEO Ho Sung Song stated the company will explore ways to bring it stateside.

Since the PV5’s name suggests a PBV lineup, larger and smaller PBV models could follow soon. Thanks for reading to the end. Let us know what you think in the comments below. Keep following the Arabwheels Blog for more content like this.
