Public Taxi
The public taxis have a roof colored with red. You can easily spot public taxis by distinguishing the color. These taxis are the most affordable and take you from point A to B in the cheapest fares. Public taxis, also known as DTC taxis, are for everyone in Dubai and cater to different needs and customer preferences.
Fare
The fare for public taxis starts at AED 5, which is the base fare if you hail directly from the streets of Dubai. And, if you hail a cab through an app such as Careem and S’Hail, the base fare is AED 12.
However, the fare also varies depending on the time and day; for example, in the daytime, it is AED 5, and it increases to AED 5.5 at night. Nonetheless, AED 2.21 is charged per kilometer.
Airport Taxi
As the name suggests, the airport taxi provides cab services to visitors at Dubai International Airport. It is exclusively for port customers at the airport, with qualified drivers waiting at terminals 1, 2, and 3 of Al Maktoum Airport. The drivers then take you to your destination.
Moreover, the airport taxis are spacious, large, family-sized vehicles that make loading heavy luggage easy. They are also available 24/7 with professional taxi drivers.
Fare
In the UAE, airport taxis require a minimum AED 25 fare, with AED 2.21 charged per kilometer.
Ladies Taxi Dubai
DTC pledges to ensure the safety of families and ladies by expanding its taxi fleet and introducing pink taxis with female drivers in the town. You can easily distinguish this type of taxi by its pink rooftop. Moreover, you can book the ladies’ taxi through the S’hail app or from anywhere in Dubai.
Fare
Similar to public taxi fares, ladies’ taxi fares follow the same rates. However, the fare again depends on the time and day of the week. For nighttime, it is AED 5.5 from 10 pm to 6 am, and in the morning, AED 5 is charged from 6 am to 4 pm, with peak hours of 8 am to 10 am and in the evening from 4 pm to 8 pm.
Limousine Taxi
The limousine taxi service is exclusively designed to serve the elite, tourists, and business professionals in Dubai. There are approximately 387 limousine taxi fleet around Dubai with 24/7 availability, In addition, a personal highly trained Chauffeur is provided for smooth and relaxed ride. Hence, the Limousine taxi fair varies enormously from regular taxi services.
Fare
The DTC offers three different limousine models catering to the diverse needs of elite customers, such as the Standard, XL, and electric Limousine. Each limousine model has a different rate.
For instance, the base fare for a standard limousine is AED 11 to AED 12.5, depending on the time of the day. The XL Limousine booking rates start from AED 16 and go up to AED 20 at peak times. For an electric limousine, the fare is AED 12 to 17. However, the rate per kilometer is AED 3.10 for all Limousines.
Additionally, if you want to rent a Limousine from the airport, the base fare is AED 25.
People of Determination Taxi
The People of Determination taxi service caters to customers’ special needs, ensuring comfort and a tailored ride. This taxi is distinguished by the blue Special Needs logo on the passenger door and the back window. It is available 24/7 in the UAE.
However, this taxi service requires customers to issue a SANAD card by the Dubai Community Development Authority (CDA). Doing so will give a 50% discount on rides. You can hire a People of Determination on Dubai streets, at the Airport, from the DTC app, or by calling 04 2080808.
Fare
The base fare of this taxi is AED 8, with an AED 2.23 per-kilometer charge. The base fare for a taxi departing from the airport is AED 25.
In Safe Hands Service
The In Safe Hands services allow customers to book taxis on a day, week, or monthly basis. They are available to every customer, including families, women, people of determination, and students, and they provide a safe and secure travel experience.
However, to get an In Safe Hands service, you are required to provide a few documents, such as an Emirates ID, a signed contract, and a Bank Transfer Copy. Moreover, you can even hire a limousine or luxury taxi for this service and have a tailored experience.
Fare
The fare for hailing a taxi is AED 25, with AED 3.36 charges per kilometer for a luxury vehicle and AED 2.23 for a regular taxi.
DTC My Driver
The My Driver service is part of DTC’s comprehensive list of services. It allows you to hire a well-trained and qualified driver to drive your car. It can also be booked on a day, week, or monthly basis. To hire a driver for your vehicle, make sure your car is registered and fully insured. Also, an Emirates ID is necessary to provide.
Fare
- Daily charges will be AED 250 for a straight eight-hour shift. For extra hours, AED 40 will be included per hour. Plus, the VAT for this service is 12.5 AED.
- AED 1000 for weekly with VAT AED 50. For working days.
- AED 3500 monthly (VAT AED 175).excluding Saturdays and Sundays, with eight hours of daily shift.
Note: If you need this service on weekends, it will cost AED 250 extra each day.
Furthermore, you are required to book the My Driver service for 2 to 3 days with all the mentioned documents.
Rental Taxi Dubai
If you need a taxi for a whole day, this service offered by the DTC provides a car with a driver to fulfill your travel needs. To avail of this service, you need to book the rental taxi at least a day in advance. Additionally, you can reserve a taxi for a whole day.
Fare
The base fare for rental taxis is AED 500 for 6 hours, AED 800 for 12 hours, and AED 1000 for 24 hours.
Payment Methods
Lastly, the DTC has made the hailing process simple and easy. From booking the ride to paying for the taxi, the process is simple and takes 3 to 4 minutes for customers. As for payment methods, there are multiple options available at DTC. You can choose to pay through cash, Credit/Debit card, NOL card, or the DTC app.
