Which is More Comfortable – McLaren or Porsche?

0 30

McLaren cars are the pinnacle of British engineering, while Porsche cars are the pinnacle of German engineering. But who wins the battle for more comfort? Let’s find out;

McLaren’s Design

McLaren cars are designed not for a comfortable driving experience but rather for a sheer, raw, unfiltered adrenaline rush. Their vehicles are aerodynamic, lightweight, and agile, which makes them monsters on the track.

Lumbar Pain

McLaren cars feature a double-wishbone suspension setup, which significantly improves their ability to turn and do quick maneuvers, but it isn’t designed for comfort. The ride sits low with stiff suspension and big wheels that guarantee lumbar pain. Of course, that is only if you drive them long enough. The amount of G forces you can pull in a McLaren is impressive. It was made to run laps, not to cruise the highway like you’d do in a Porsche.

Porsche – Comfortable Sports Car?

The Porsche 911 is all about comfort and adrenaline. It was designed with this concept in mind: you can take it to the track, push it to its limits, and still be able to go grocery shopping after that. If you think it’s slow or it won’t have the McLaren performance, you’re wrong. It does the job better since it is meant to be a complete package. It holds its market value, unlike the McLaren, on which you can lose 50-60% of its value over the next five years.

Porsche vs McLaren

It’s all about perspective, really. For a person who wants to enjoy the sunset sipping a Spanish Latte with his beautiful wife on the highway listening to Frank Ocean, there’s no better car than the Porsche 911. It has the power to outrun any vehicle on the road so you feel confident, and its roof opens so you can feel the cold air swinging through your remaining hair. What a wholesome evening! But there’s more (Or less) to life than this;

For the 26-year-old boy who wants to be the next Nikki Lauda, this is his first experience in the McLaren 720 S pulling 1.5 G-force, pushing him into the carbon-bucket seats with a 0-60 mph time in under 3 seconds; his heart beats rhyming with the rev limiter, the carbon-ceramic brakes turning the color of a volcano, the rear tires struggling to keep traction.

He doesn’t need a fancy Bose audio system with 13 speakers and surround sound. The sound from the twin-turbo V8 is satisfying enough for him. The road is his canvas, and his McLaren 720 S is the paintbrush he is using to create art.

It’s all about perspective, really.

Conclusion

Despite being a hard-core performance lover, I would personally recommend the Porsche lifestyle. You can enjoy the Porsche as long as you want and then pass it on to your children to enjoy, and trust me, it’ll be an equally enjoyable experience for them, too. You can’t go wrong with a Porsche.
