Your Next Dubai Taxi Ride Could Be Electric – Here’s Why!
With the addition of 250 new electric vehicles (EVs) to its taxi fleet, DTC has successfully reclaimed its status as the premier taxi operator in Dubai
Dubai Taxi Company (DTC) has expanded its fleet. It purchased 250 new license plates at a recent auction by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), bringing DTC’s overall fleet size to an impressive 6,210 vehicles.
As a result of this growth, the company anticipates generating yearly revenues of approximately AED 85 million. The company has obtained new license plates specifically for electric vehicles, highlighting its commitment to eco-friendly transportation options.
DTC’s eco-friendly fleet includes a variety of hybrid and electric cars, which account for about 87% of the total count. CEO Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi highlighted the company’s goal of building effective collaborations in intelligent and sustainable transport.
DTC has made a significant acquisition that raises its total number of vehicles to over 9,000. This strategic move further establishes DTC’s leadership in Dubai’s transportation landscape. One notable aspect of this acquisition is the addition of 250 new electric vehicles (EVs) to its taxi fleet. With these new electric vehicles, DTC has successfully reclaimed its status as the premier taxi operator in Dubai.
This initiative will significantly increase the proportion of environmentally friendly vehicles in the fleet, aligning with and supporting the UAE’s Year of Sustainability initiative. The total fleet now consists of 6,210 vehicles, reflecting a robust investment in sustainable transportation.
The expansion is expected to generate substantial additional annual revenues, estimated at around AED 85 million. Mansoor Rahma Alfalasi articulated that the primary aim of this initiative is to enhance the quality of services provided in Dubai and its surrounding areas while also strengthening alliances with major local and international allies in the transport sector.
“This acquisition elevates our fleet to an impressive total of over 9,000 vehicles, which includes taxis, limousines, buses, and motorcycles,” Alfalasi remarked.
This strategic move not only supports DTC’s role as a primary mobility provider in the region but also significantly contributes to the DTC’s overall revenue growth. In doing so, DTC is positioning itself to meet the evolving demands of transportation while actively contributing to a more sustainable future.
